We Hiked 0.7 miles to camp at Flatrock Gap. Next day hiked 1.5 (and 1,000+ feet elev.) to the top of Blood Mountain. So DJ did 2.2 miles with a pack holding his bag, pad, cloths, cup, spoon and water(~10 lbs). The next day we hiked around Bl.Mtn. getting water and exploring. Maybe another 4 miles having to go down for water and back up again. We met a ranger, new people, a salamander and that young man learned and did a lot by himself.
