I just had to post because I haven’t posted in so long. Some of you will undoubtably find this weblog after seeing me present at Finovate.
\nAt this point I have no idea how I did, I went first at 9:00am and after weeks of preparation it all came down to seven minutes. Our engineers were great, the fact is we don’t build full-blown applications, we build the mobile image capture technology inside of them – so asking them to build out an app was a big pain in the you know what. On top of that we had to build an app that worked across multiple devices from my Google glass to my iPad to my laptop.
\nRehearsal today was a nightmare, the air server didn’t project my tablet on the laptop the Google glass pooped out halfway through and my microphone kept falling off my ear. In fact we stopped and started several times and believe it or not we’re still under seven minutes. So I know I have flexibility in time tomorrow I think we worked out all the bugs and if nothing else I just have to remember to breath and not rush.
\nTop image systems has been a terrific ride this year, I started in January to open up their mobile image capture market in the US. After spending most of my career in the online banking space and recently in mobile banking this was a wonderful challenge. And there were many bumps in the road many changes in our organization as we’ve grown through acquisition and investment. Recently we crossed the biggest hurdle when the patent suit was settled and we are now able to compete on our merits. The fact is TIS has been doing image recognition for so long it’s amazing that anyone would doubt we weren’t innovators. Tomorrow is a big step, it’s the biggest audience I’ve been in front of yet and it’s exhilarating to have this kind of opportunity. I’m looking forward to the next few months in the conference season and working on the opportunities in front of us.
