I\u2019m gone. Not deleted yet. But gone. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Honestly I think it was friends and family posts about the sickening terror murder attacks in Israel that I just realized I couldn\u2019t look anymore and then I thought about people looking at me and I just got overwhelmed<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Philosophically I realized at my 40th high school reunion how strangely artificial my relationships with all those people over the last 20 years via Facebook were and just didn\u2019t want it to be any more<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>We fill so much space with easy interactions<br>I wonder what these relationships would have been before Facebook<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>would I have made more of an effort, written letters or emails? Called them on the phone? <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>I did before and visited when in town <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>apathetic interaction with false positive reinforcement <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>lazy sharing in the form of posts &#8211; pictures, personal yet impersonal <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>I think this is different, all the world can see and I write as it is<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>as I used to on instagram &#8211; just pictures, only as personal as I would be in public, I\u2019m going back to that too<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>EOF<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>I cancelled my Facebook today.
